Please review the Howard Arrival and Dismissal Procedures!

Safety is everyone’s responsibility! Please help keep our children safe!

Please exercise and model positive behavior during arrival and dismissal.  A little patience will go a long way.  If everyone follows our basic traffic flow guidelines, local ordinances and traffic laws,  it will help us to have a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal.

Please click on the link at the bottom of this post to view a map with traffic/parking guidelines and expectations to help keep our students safe!

You may wait in your car during dismissal in front of the building, but you may be asked to move forward to keep the traffic flowing.  If your child does not come to your car shortly after dismissal, you may circle the block and return to the designated pick up area.  By the time you circle around, your child may be waiting for you.  If you need to exit your car during dismissal, you must not park in designated “no parking” areas.  Cars will be  ticketed for parking in our traffic flow area during this time.

Do not drop students off anywhere but our designated drop off locations in front of the school.  It is not safe to drop them off on the opposite side of the street or any other location.

Remember that N. York is a two-way street, so drivers should not pass vehicles that are dropping off children if this will block traffic in the opposite direction.

Everyone must use the crosswalk to cross the street at all times.  Crossing the street at our drop off/pick up location only slows down the flow of traffic even more, and creates an unsafe situation for the children.  Using the crosswalk models what we expect from the children, and is the only safe way to cross the street.

Thank you!
