The 3rd Annual PTA Back to School Picnic was a huge success. Thank you to Trustee Berry and Trustee Thorpe for grilling up a delicious lunch and to the Dearborn PTA Council for putting together such a great event. The student volunteers brought their “A game” and kept things moving smoothly. Everybody’s dedication to our students and community came shining through.

Thank you to all the parents that were able to attend and to the PTA for setting up a beautiful gathering and refreshment table for our meet and greet today! We want to extend our gratitude to Trustee Thorpe, Trustee Berry, Superintendent Dr. Maleyko, Executive Director Mrs. Faraj, Leadership Coach Mrs. Fouani, and Dearborn PTA President Ms. Haidar for making the time to join us and show their support for all that we do! Attached in the link is the PowerPoint that was shared today. In addition, we will be sharing the PowerPoint at another meet and greet session in the cafeteria to be held at the end of the Back to School Picnic from 6:15 – 6:45 on Monday, September 17, 2018. We hope to meet even more of our great families then. Have a safe and happy Labor Day Weekend!!
Hello Howard Community,
As parents and guardians, the safety of all children is paramount. I don’t mean to sound grim, however; driving, especially in a school zone, is a heavy responsibility. In order to protect all of the students at our school and in our community please refer to the School Zone Safety Guidelines shared by the District, Dearborn Police Department, and City of Dearborn.
If we all work together, we can ensure that all of our students get to school and home safely each day. A little patience goes a long way. So far, it has taken about 10 minutes for the bulk of the traffic to clear the school streets. Ten minutes is not a lot of time when weighted against the safety of our students so please, practice patience and abide by the safety guidelines.
***I urge you to be especially mindful of tiny people popping out from between parked cars and buses and ensure that you direct your children to walk to the corners and be crossed by the cross guards.
We had a solid turnout for the second grade parent night! Parents and teachers got together to share important information and expectations for a successful school year! These meetings are part of an effort to increase opportunities for communication between the school and our families. Specials area teachers stopped in to say hello and share information as well. Way to go Dragons!
