Hello Howard Families,
We hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the nice weather! We have a couple of fun and busy days ahead for our Howard community and we wanted to make sure that everyone is in the loop!
This Thursday, October 27th we will have the MSU vs UofM team spirit day during school hours; we encourage all students to wear blue or green :-). Go BLUE! Also, this Thursday is our much anticipated Howard-een Fall Bash from 5:00-7:00 P.M. All are invited to wear costumes if they choose to do so. Please also bring a bag or bucket to “trick or treat” with. If you are hosting a trunk, please be sure to show up no later than 4:30 P.M. (because we can not have moving vehicles during the admission process). Admissions will begin at 4:50 P.M. (please do not show up earlier than this due to safety as we ensure moving vehicles are cleared). If you have purchased tickets, vouchers will be sent home with your eldest child at Howard. Please be sure to bring your voucher to redeem your wristbands at entry.
This Friday, October 28th is a half day and dismissal is at 12:05 P.M. Students CAN wear costumes that are school and age-appropriate. For the safety of students, students CAN NOT wear inflatable costumes, wear masks, and include any violent props (including blood and weapons). We thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We will also have a costume parade outside at 11:30 A.M. (weather permitting); all parents/guardians are invited to attend (please meet us outside on the track). If we need to cancel due to the weather, we will post a message on the blog. The weather is looking okay so far…
This upcoming Monday, October 31st is the Pink-Out for Cancer Awareness month. We are suggesting that students wear PINK and contribute $1; all money collected will be donated to the Cancer Foundation from Howard School. It is important that we give our students the opportunity to exercise empathy and contribute to an important cause.
