Dear Howard Families,
Our Cultural Night will be held on Tuesday, May 13th, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. We will have activities set up around the school for students/families to engage in and celebrate our diversity. Additionally, as a part of this night, we are looking for families to help us showcase and learn about different cultures from around the world! Families can create a poster/tri-fold presentation about one of the countries listed on a sign-up genius (shared below).
Family projects can include components such as:
- the country name and outline map at the top
- geographic information
- famous citizens
- country flag
- facts such as population, language, climate, major religions, government type, currency, landmarks, etc.
- photographs that represent the culture and famous landmarks
You may also bring a dish of food from any country of your choosing; see sign-up genius for that below, too (please make sure to include ingredients for dietary restrictions). This is also optional. Please arrive at 3:10 PM if you plan on presenting a project to set up in the cafeteria before cultural night starts, and then families are free to go to the other rooms for activities if they would like. We will have volunteers monitor the projects during the event. Each family that wants to present a project should only sign up for ONE slot, even if you have multiple children in the school.
We look forward to seeing all of our Howard students and families so we can celebrate the beautiful and diverse Howard cultures~!
Warmly,
The Cultural Committee
