Dearborn Public Schools Annual District Art Show is one of the largest art shows in the state of Michigan. We are known for our massive volume of work on display from k-12, as well as our professional matting and presentation, our wide scale marketing, and our community support.
Last year’s art show had over 800 guests come out for opening night! Over the course of the month, well over a thousand people came through the Padzieski Gallery to see the stunning work made by our talented students.
This year Howard has some special artwork in the show unlike anything we’ve presented before. Our fifth graders worked on a months-long unit focused in architecture and interior design. They were tasked with building a structure that implemented both career fields, and got to learn some of the skills and challenges first hand. Keep an eye out for these amazing structures!
Another special piece in the show this year is our amazing recycled bottle chandelier! Every second grade student played a role in the creation of this piece, and all second grade families will be extended a special invite to come see it in our recycled art exhibit!
Lastly, fourteen other students will be featured for their individual work created this school year. These will be scattered around throughout the massive two-floor collection.
The show will take place on Tuesday, April 1st from 4:30-7pm at the Ford Performing Arts Center in Dearborn (15801 Michigan Ave.) The show will begin in the auditorium for the senior videos and awards ceremony. There will also be a slideshow on display featuring pictures of participants and their work. After the ceremony, guests will be directed to the gallery to walk through the show and view the work. Light snacks and refreshments will also be made available.
The exhibition will remain on display until May 3rd, so if you are unable to make the opening reception, feel free to stop by the gallery any time during open hours for the duration of the show.
